Runner’s World – Content Audit

These slides are from my Runner’s World case study. In this section I went through all the current content of the site, then did a card sorting exercise to organize the content based on user needs. This led to the completion of the content audit and informed the site map.

Runner’s World – Web

These slides are from my Runner’s World case study. In this section I designed wireframes to show the web experience of navigating to the pace calculator tool, along with a proposed mobile web experience using a responsive web design approach. This would create a better consistency across all screen sizes.

Quotes

“We were working on a pro-bono project at Leo Burnett when David was brought on. This was a unique project but he jumped right in. He was able to understand the requirements and User flows which he translated into a working Prototype. Not only does he have a great UX skill set, he has that Creative eye as well. He’s one of the nicest most collaborative people I’ve ever worked with and anyone who has the chance to work with him won’t be disappointed!”

-Mia Tsou, Manager, Business Analysis at Arc Worldwide

“David is going to be a UX rock star. This guy is going to do big things in the near future and is a sponge for anything relating to user experience. As an intern at Space150, I have seen him do things with prototyping techniques and information architecture that Senior UX Designers should be envious of. I know I am. He is wise beyond his years and understands extremely intelligent concepts around cognitive science, psychology and human-computer behaviors. He’s an awesome guy to work with and I hope we will be on the same team for many years.”

-Jon Hadden, VP, Director of UX Design & Development at Martin Williams

“When Dave came to space150 with an interest in User Experience, his passion for design and interactive was energizing. Inspired by his obsession to explore the web for resources and post his inspiration, I saw an opportunity for space150 and Dave to bring him in as a UX intern. Throughout his internship, Dave’s understanding and passion for UX grew, as he continued to seek out any opportunity to learn from peers at space, Twin City meet-ups, and even the IA Summit held this year in Colorado. When client work wasn’t pressing, Dave worked on a UX case study to explore UX methodologies and serve as a portfolio piece at the end of his internship. I was pleasantly surprised to see Dave take this opportunity also learn additional tools, including Keynote and Axure, to create iPhone, iPad, and HTML prototypes. Dave has surely proven to be a fast-learning, collaborative, and inspiring designer, and it’s been a joy to see him grow here at space150.”

-Courtney Davis, Senior User Experience Strategist at SEOmoz

“David exhibits the most voracious appetite for UX design knowledge than anyone I’ve ever met. Teach him an inch and he’ll learn (and run), the whole mile. Any firm looking to hire a future industry-changing stalwart UX’er should scoop Mr. Mahmarian.”

-Justin Peddycoart, User Experience Manager at Manifest Digital
